B.F.F. (Black Friday Forever)

PHEW!!! WE MADE IT!

All I can say about this Black Friday is that it by far was the CRAZIEST one I have ever done! Stores were opening as early as 10 pm on Thanksgiving night and although I did not hit my first store until 4 am, my sister and cousins were in line for the Disney store at 10 pm. It opened at midnight! From there they went over to Old Navy which also opened at midnight and the store was FULL TO CAPACITY and they quit letting people in the doors!

When we got to Target close to the time they were opening, not only was the HUGE parking lot overflowing, all the parking spaces across the street on all sides were also overflowing and the lines were literally going down and around the streets. They were the longest I have ever seen in my life and I'm not going to lie, I was scared!

We sat in the car for a few minutes until they lines made it in because we have found with Target that they are well stocked and there is no need to wait out in the freezing cold, which by the way, it was only about 10 degrees here.

As we were watching the never ending lines go in, I honestly thought about not attempting it because I was afraid of making it out safely! Maybe it's because I'm pregnant this year and a part of me is overprotective of the baby in my belly, but we really considered not going in. We did though, and we persevered and we got everything we were wanting inside! My sister had to stand in a special line just for the digital cameras FOREVER but we got them all, plus the other items we went in for!

After Target, we hit a few other stores and got some great deals and then we went to breakfast. A few of our cousins that are usually with us had already checked out and called it a day/night by then so they were not with us in the pics but all in all, it was another successful and FUN (and scary) Black Friday. I think next year we need to step up our game because it's getting crazier every year!

Okay ladies, we are only two days away from the chaos and fun and more chaos. If you've been online at all you will see articles all over the place about Black Friday ads that are out and deals. I am posting this link here because I read this article and thought it was interesting and something to look out for and be prepared. I'm also putting a link here to the 2 day Target ad if you want to view it because that has always been one of our favorite stores to go to. Target has always been really good with having plenty of their ad items in stock if you get there early, as well as many other deals you can find that you weren't even looking for.

Black Friday Shopping Tips

These are the tips that we wanted to share with everyone that we have found to be really useful when shopping and planning out Black Friday. We hope they help!

1) Get your ads EARLY! And watch the mail! It’s easy to get distracted Thanksgiving morning getting ready for dinner that night and watching the parade, just remember FIRST THING get up early and go get a paper!! The ads go out Thanksgiving morning and the papers SELL OUT quick. Also, quite a few merchants send ads in the mail a few days prior, so watch the mail! IF all else fails, you can get them online.

2) Make an “At a glance” sheet for each store you visit. When going through the ads get some scissors, tape and cardstock. Cut out the items you want from each store and tape them to a sheet. When you get to the store grab your sheet for that store and know exactly what you’re there for. Don’t waste time re-fumbling through the ads!

3) Strategize your shopping! Strategizing is everything! When going with a group or even one other person, bring your phones or walkie talkies, decided in advance who’s going for what, have one person scoping out short lines, 2 back to toys, 2 to electronics. Everyone helps to get what’s on everyone’s list!

4) Remember PRICE MATCHING!! Some larger merchants like Wal-Mart price match. If there is a door buster deal at one store that you must have, but another great deal somewhere else, cross check your adds online to see if that merchant carries it. If so put it on your at a glance sheet to price match! The store has to see the ads. Note: Items HAVE to be EXACT!!

5) Freezing FIRST In line! It’s no secret that when you arrive at a store at 2 am at the end of November (at least here in Utah) It’s FREEZING!! And knowing that the doors don’t open until 5 am, you have to be creative to stay warm and help time to go by. GET LAUGHING!! It not only warms your body physically, but also your heart and soul. Huddle close, share funny stories, bring holiday music & some hot chocolate or coffee. Before you know it, the doors are getting ready to open and the Holiday shopping season is about to begin! NOTE: Most heat from your body escapes from your head. Wear a good warm hat (see BFF chunky knit cap; it’s warm and covers the ears)

6) Wear boots and dress in layers. When in crowded stores with overzealous shoppers racing and fighting for the best deal, you will get your feet stepped on and the back of your hills ran into with shopping carts. Good, comfortable boots help to minimize pain! Remember: Baby it’s cold outside but once in the stores, your adrenaline is pumping, you’re running, and the crowds are large. Dressing in layers allows you to quickly take off a few items!

7) Pass up the shopping cart! If possible, DON’T get a cart! The aisles are very crowded and if you have a cart you will spend most of your time standing in a traffic jam. If you have help RUN, grab your door buster, then get a cart once you have what you need.

8) Get there first or last! Remember, if you’re there for a “DOOR BUSTER” prize you have to be one of the first people in line. If you’re there for just the great Black Friday door buster sales, stay toasty warm in your car and get in line when the doors open. The line moves into the store quickly, and chances of you getting that door buster sale from the back of the line are just as good as from your car. Most stores are well stocked and you will still be able to get most items from your list if you are with the first crowd entering the store.

9) Sale items are on pallets- not just on shelves! On Black Friday know this: Don’t expect to find the on sale DVDS in the DVD section, or the MUST HAVE new Scene It by board games! Most of the items in the ads are put throughout the stores on pallets. Keep your eyes open and if you see someone carrying something you need and ask them where they got it. It you find a swarm of people around what you need, ASK if someone close will hand you one. We’re all in this together!!

10) Cut in front of cash registers to find a line. When you’ve got your loot and ready to check out you will find ENDLESS lines. Check out lines run throughout the store and down aisles. It is extremely hard to find where one line begins and another ends. DO NOT wind through the back of the store trying to find the end of a line. You will most likely get caught in a traffic jam this way. Instead, go in front of the registers and find a line. Usually most people assume all the lines are endless. 9 times out-of-10 when you get out of the crowd you can spot a short line. NOTE: Camera bar, jewelry counter and sometimes even the pharmacies will check you out. At Sam’s club the Tobacco line will also check you out!

11) Last, but most important: GOOD WILL TOWARDS MEN! Lets all remember to help our fellow men. Be courteous, kind and helpful to others. NO ITEM is worth treating others disrespectfully or inhumanly. It is Christmas after all, and shopping is not what it’s all about! “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

TWO WEEKS AWAY!!!

Okay, it just seemed like yesterday it was barely August and I was just starting to think about the upcoming holidays and of course, Black Friday. Now here we are, and it is two weeks from today and I'm shaking my head wondering where on earth time goes! It's CRAZY but true! TWO WEEKS from today we will be hitting the sales ladies, but it's not too late to get your BFF apparel if you still want to step up your game and have a little more fun! If you're thinking about it though, please order this week so you won't have to pay extra for shipping. Time if Flying!!

Is it really almost November?! It's less then a week away and I cannot even wrap my mind around where the past two months, let alone year, went. I can't believe in a few weeks we'll be out fighting the crazy crowds again and CHRISTMAS shopping! We just got snow here in Utah this past week and it even hit the valley floors and I have to admit, it made me want to crank on some of my favorite Christmas music! I was totally starting to feel the holiday spirit creeping up and I wasn't even thinking about it.

So, in just a few weeks from today me and my favorite Black Friday shopping gals are going to be dressing up in our Black Friday gear and hitting the sales! WHOOP WHOOP!!! Oh yeah, I'm getting excited!

If you haven't got your Black Friday gear, it's not too late and everything is still on sale! Start planning now. Call your girlfriends, sisters, aunts and even grandma, get some HOT coffee or cocoa and get ready to have some fun while you cross off lots of people on your shopping lists!

TIME TO START GETTING EXCITED!!!!

Okay, WHERE has this year gone?! We have less then 15 weeks until Black Friday and as much as I've enjoyed and savored summer, I can't help but start to feel the excitement rising for the beautiful fall months ahead- the crispness in the air, the warm beautiful colors and oh yeah...BLACK FRIDAY shopping with my peeps!! The countdown clock is going back up ladies because although Summer is not yet over, we all know it will go by in a blink and we want to be ready to hit the Black Friday sales and get some killer deals and start crossing people off of our Christmas lists! It's okay, START GETTING EXCITED!! I'm sure most of the men (and a lot of you women) are right now about the football season coming up, right?! GIRLS, GET YOUR GAME ON!!! Call all of the favorite women in your life, gear up, and make a plan to have a blast this year on Black Friday!!

Another successful Black Friday!

Whew! It was CRAZY this year! It seemed like there were more people out then ever and I'm pretty sure I waited in the biggest line I had ever waited in on a Black Friday too! But it was worth it because I know we got some AWESOME deals this year and were able to save money while checking off quite a few people from our Christmas list! It was awesome too that some stores decided to open at 4 am this year so by 7 am we had already hit about four stores, all of which had almost everything we were looking for! There were even a few stores opening at midnight but we saw the ads and decided to get at least a few hours of sleep instead so that we had the energy to persevere! All in all, it was another great shopping success!!

Great Christmas Gifts

Two days to go! YEAH!! Remember to get up early tomorrow and go and get your local paper for all the ads (if you don't already subscribe) before they sell out! Also, if you haven't got a chance to read our link with all of our favorite Black Friday shopping tips, please do! There's some good ones there!
All of our BFF apparel is on sale right now and although there's no time to get them to you at this point to wear ON Black Friday, they still are fun to wear all during the Christmas shopping season and to give as gifts to anyone who loves to shop any time of the year! We're still selling them daily and supplies and sizes are getting limited so get yours while you can!

Okay, it may be too late to get your BFF gear for this Black Friday (unless you do express shipping or live in Utah), but still get it now. Don't wait! EVERYTHING IS ON SALE NOW!!

We also designed them so that they don't scream holidays or Black Friday so that you can wear them all year long and they would make great Christmas gifts for all of the women friends that you know that love shopping and/or Black Friday as much as you do! Okay, if you live in our state (Utah) you still have time to get your orders in and get them in time. Most Fed Ex shipments here in Utah will only take two business days and Saturdays do count so don't be afraid to put in your order! If you don't live here, we could do a rush order at this point but it would cost a little bit extra. Please email us if you're interested and we'll do everything we can to get your gear to you in time for Black Friday!

We are also at a Holiday Craft Boutique selling them all day tomorrow (Saturday) from 10 am to 7 pm if you live close. It's in Santaquin at CS Lewis Academy that's located right off SR198 Road on the east side. If you take the first Santaquin exit (if you're headed South), take a left off the exit (East) and then another left at the four way stop by Maverick that road will take you right to the CS Lewis school which is about a quarter mile down on the East side. The boutique is in the gym and is free to get in. It's small but there are some cute things to see and Santa will also be there so bring your kids and avoid the mall this year! You will also save on shipping. Hope to see you there!

Okay ladies! The countdown is on. Two weeks from today and our favorite shopping day of the year is here! Yeah!!! If you still haven't called up all your favorite shopping buddies and gotten geared up, DO IT NOW! TIME IS RUNNING OUT and we don't want you to have to pay extra for express shipping!

Remember, Black Friday is the kick off to the holiday shopping season and the day to get a head start on your shopping list with some really awesome deals! But more important then that, it's a great excuse to get together with all of your girlfriends and make a fun day out of it!

B.F.F. Premier at Women's Expo

Well we just did the Women's Expo this past weekend and debuted our BFF apparel to get women's reaction to it. The die hard shoppers like ourselves LOVED IT! We were surprised that some women still didn't even know what Black Friday is. IT'S THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING GIRLS!! The biggest shopping day of the year! The day when hundreds of thousands of women (and some men) are out in lines at 4 am huddled together to keep warm while excitedly anticipating all of the great sale items they're going to get. Well we're super excited about it because we only showed it to a little "spec" of women in this country and the ones who got it, LOVED it!!

Okay, so when we say "Gear Up", we are talking literally to "gear up" ladies by dressing up in our super cute and chic Black Friday Gear! This apparel came out of a passion of ours for Black Friday shopping that has become tradition for us. Every year we get together with all our girlfriends and map out our assault on the Black Friday sales. We make a fun, all-girl day out of it! The past couple of years we even started all dressing in black. Now we want to share our fun B.F.F. logo that we designed with the rest of you! And the best part about our apparel is it's cute enough without screaming Christmas or holidays so you can wear it all year long!

We hope you call all the favorite women in your life, get all geared up, wake up super early, get some hot coffee or cocoa and shop in style this year!! Good luck girls and here's to Black Friday!!
